I am excited and honored to have recently joined the talented team of educators at Newburyport Montessori School. I came to NMS as a dedicated and passionate educator with over 20 years of experience while wearing various educational hats throughout my career As a classroom teacher, Pre-K Special Education teacher and Early Intervention Developmental Therapist, I have had the honor of working with children, and their families, who require specialized instruction due to various special needs such as developmental delays, communication delays, Autism, and those in needof sensory processing, social-emotional, and behavioral support.

I have always followed the Montessori philosophy while teaching, which is especially important in my eyes, while working with those with specialized needs. Follow the child, provide structure and routine to promote independence, focus on the individual and unique needs of the child, provide a prepared environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and natural success based on developmental skills…this all supports a learner to feel comfortable to take chances and do hard things, like learn a new skill through exploration. My goal while at NMS will be to continue to foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for all learners by following the child through the Montessori principles and meeting the individual needs of each child.

I live in Amesbury with my husband and 2 children, Benjamin and Anna, and our bunny, Oreo. In my free time, I like to spend time with my family outdoors. As a family, we love to go camping, go to the beach at Sandy Point, and ice skate & kayak on Lake Attitash. I also love to cook while listening to Frank Sinatra, the Beatles, Tom Petty and/or Hip Hop!
