MISSION STATEMENT
The Newburyport Montessori Parent Association is committed to supporting the school, the educators, and the children they serve. We are a group of volunteers who believe that greater parent involvement enriches the educational experience of everyone and highlights the Montessori philosophy of responsibility and independence.

The Parent Association (PA) manages Parent Ambassadors for each classroom. Parent Ambassadors support classroom needs and facilitate communication between educators and parents.
The PA coordinates delicious staff breakfasts and lunches periodically throughout the year. We also fill Teacher Appreciation week with special treats to show our gratitude for the wonderful staff at NMS.

Our community extends beyond the walls of our classrooms. We believe it is important for children and families in our NMS community to recognize the needs of those in our greater community.
Three times per year the Parent Association organizes a drive to support specific needs of local non-profits. Drives include: winter clothing, food, diapers, pajamas, etc..

We coordinate events throughout the school year. Events include annual parent socials, and well as family socials. These events help to strengthen our school sense of community.

Every other year we host a Gala fundraiser event, to raise funds for various school improvement projects. It is a wonderful social event highly attended by our families complete with a live and silent auction.
